I think I'd do some decorative relief carving into the plywood there to facilitate better air flow and anti claustrophobia.

I would imagine they are either a mixed family (2 divorced parents, remarried) or possibly Grand parents who like to have every one over.

 

This is a vacation house on a lake not a full time residence.
